Hosted
by Maiden Rock Winery & Cidery, this year's festival promises
to be another epicurean adventure! Celebrate extraordinary Fall
delights of the
Lake
Pepin
region, as interpreted by chef Judy
Krohn. Enjoy music by famous acoustic folk duo Patchouli!
Many
know Judy Krohn from
her long career at The Harbor
View Café in
Pepin
,
Wisconsin
. Judy has helped the restaurant to win numerous awards, including
this year's Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine critics choice in the
"Best Restaurant - Scene" category and the Reader's Poll
in the "Day-Trip Restaurant" category. Judy also often
leads cooking classes-cum-dinner parties at
The Palate
in Stockholm. |
| Patchouli
is the acoustic world-beat/folk duo of Julie Patchouli and Bruce
Hecksel. Julie's pure primordial vocals, while compared to such
luminaries as Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan and Sade have quickly
gained her notoriety in her own right. An award winning songwriter
and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Julie alternates between
guitar, string bass, mandolin, marimbas and various African drums.
Bruce Hecksel is not just another acoustic guitarist; his style is
that of a "powerhouse flatpicker"! The complexity of his
playing and intricate, solidly-rhythmic breaks can leave listeners
transfixed with their jaw hanging. Patchouli's albums have
received critical acclaim nationwide and received airplay on
world, folk, and NPR radio programs throughout the
U.S.
